The International Journal of Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Materials (IJIMEAM) acknowledges the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing. This policy is intended to ensure that AI is used responsibly, supporting scholarly communication while maintaining academic integrity, transparency, and scientific accountability.
General Principle
AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, Copilot, etc.) are considered assistive technologies, not intellectual contributors. The responsibility for all content remains entirely with the authors.
Authors are fully responsible and accountable for their work, including:
- Critically reviewing and verifying the accuracy, completeness, and impartiality of all AI-generated outputs (including checking references, as AI-generated citations may be inaccurate or fabricated).
- Thoroughly editing and adapting all AI-assisted material to ensure the manuscript reflects the authors’ original contribution, analysis, and interpretation.
- Ensuring transparency, by clearly disclosing any use of AI tools in the manuscript. A disclosure statement is required upon submission.
- Safeguarding data privacy, intellectual property, and ethical standards, including compliance with the terms and conditions of any AI tools used.
Acceptable Use of AI
Authors may use AI tools for the following purposes:
- Language and readability enhancement (grammar, clarity, and phrasing)
- Structural assistance (organization and flow of the manuscript)
- Technical support (e.g., coding assistance or debugging)
➡️ Condition: Authors must fully understand, verify, and be able to reproduce all results presented in the manuscript.
Mandatory AI Disclosure
If AI tools are used beyond the purposes listed above, authors must include a declaration in the manuscript, placed after the Acknowledgment section and before the References section, using the format below:
Section Title: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing ProcessSection Content: The author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL] to assist in [SPECIFY PURPOSE AND/OR REASON]. All AI-generated content was critically reviewed, revised, and validated by the authors. The author(s) take full responsibility for the scientific accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).Author Declaration Form (Required Submission)
In addition to the statement in the manuscript, all authors must complete and sign the following declaration form and submit it along with the manuscript.
AUTHOR STATEMENT ON THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TOOLSWe, the undersigned authors,
declare that any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the preparation of this manuscript complies with ethical standards and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics.
AI-based tools (such as ChatGPT or similar technologies) were used solely to assist in language editing, grammar correction, and improving the clarity and structure of the manuscript. These tools were not used to generate original scientific ideas, perform data analysis, or draw scientific conclusions.
All scientific content, including the research design, data analysis, interpretation of results, and conclusions, was developed independently by the authors. The authors have critically reviewed and verified all outputs generated with the assistance of AI tools and take full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the work.
No AI tool has been listed as an author, and no AI-generated content has been included without appropriate human validation and oversight.
Final Note
IJIMEAM supports the responsible use of AI to improve manuscript quality. However, scientific thinking, analysis, and conclusions must remain entirely the responsibility of the authors.
